Fire extinguisher mount

I saw this once, never to be seen again or at least not with my patience. That post is long buried by now.

Anywho I managed to pick up a small fire extinguisher travel size let's say, and remember coming across a member who actually made a mount for it. I like the usefulness of having it when or if I need it in the rig. So who's done it? Wanna show me the mount? [emoji3]

This thread was very good.

@BlackWorksInc thanks, but after reading through this thread seemed to be more for informational purposes only and personal experiences.

I saw a member mount it in the cargo area alongside a panel where the storage compartments are. I liked that idea, so maybe I'll find out exactly what was used or I'll just think a little and come up with something

I just used the mount that came with it and mounted it on the tool compartment. 1st page of my build.

I mounted mine on the panel that covers the jack. I'll get you a pic this afternoon.

Don't have the mount, kind of secretly took it from work so it came without one. But we have so much extra crap that it'll go easily go unnoticed. That's just the pros of working in a construction warehouse with extra amounts of anything and everything lol.
Off topic but ya... Thanks

Lol that's a bit more difficult. I would make a bracket with a base to support it a small collar and then like a velcro strap. I'm no good at modeling so you'll jus have to picture it.

Cool. Now note that my extinguisher is without the mount that usually comes with one. And it's pretty heavy but very decent size.. Lemme see if I got a pichttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...0dacbb5c02.jpg
When I say heavy I'm pertaining to a mount being able to support it well enough that I won't have to worry while off-roading. But also an quickly accessible breakaway type thing

It's a cheap amazon mount. It's for that size fire extinguisher but it makes no mention of the brand that I have, so it's not quite right.

It's actually been giving me quite a bit of trouble. The retaining strap just doesn't quite work with my fire extinguisher so occasionally on a sharp turn the strap pops open and then rattles back there driving me insane until I get a chance to stop and lock it back down.

I'm going to be fiddling with it this weekend again. It's a good design in theory as it allows for quick access, but it's just not quite right.

Hey guys... Took a screenshot of this a while ago when I was perusing around on Amazon to find an extinguisher mount that looked beefy and clean that could take a beating off-road. If I'm not mistaken, you secure the extinguisher to this unit with one of those silver buckle with the flathead or Phillips screw for tightening and you are then able to use the red "PULL" for quick release in an emergency situation. I agree that the jack and spare tire kit cover (I have a 4th gen) appear to be the best mounting point (IF you can secure it with out the little door popping off when you're on the trails..... [emoji16])

That's another issue I run into on occasion ^^^. The tabs on the cover for my jack are pretty worn from the PO. If the tabs were in better shape I'm pretty confident that it wouldn't be an issue though. I've had mine mounted like that for at least 6 months now and only had the mount and the cover jump off once.

That is a pretty slick looking mount though!

Yes I saw that. And it is by far the best looking one out there and for the money looks like it'll do the job. Do let us know if u buy it and use it. I want to get away from the hose clamps though but still have the fast release. I'm actually looking at this one. I like the double straps too http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...1687fac91b.jpg

This is the one I have, if I actually need it the clamps let go VERY easily.

Here's where I have it mounted. I did have to put a secondary latch in to keep the door attached to the cubby. The weight of the fire extinguisher kept knocking it out.
