Vinyl Wrapped 4Runner

6 Attachment(s)
I finished up my wrap about a month ago. Avery Dennison SW900 Matte Metallic Grigio with 3M 1080 Dark Matte Black accents. I have been doing vinyl for some time now and am really happy with how it turned out! Feel free to ask any ?s about the process and I have a more detailed write up in the "5th Gen" under "Full Vinyl Wrap".

I don't know much about this vinyl wrapping stuff.... What are the benefits? Why did you decide to do it?

The wrap looks awesome. What would it run to have a 4 runner done?

Thanks guys! There are a lot of variables in pricing a full wrap. Material($8-20 per sq ft), how in depth you want the wrap to be(removing panels, mirrors, etc..) which goes into install time. This wrap took me 7 days at 6-8hrs a day and would estimate this to be in the $4-5 grand range due to how in depth I made it. Sure you can get a wrap done for "cheap" , but pay for what you get when it comes to vinyl.

Benefits: It's exactly the color I want, and exactly how I want it to look. It's protecting my original paint and can be easily removed when I am ready for a new look.

Why?: I am a vinyl installer and wanted to show what can be done and share with my T4R family!

Are you located in Colorado? I'm thinking of getting some vinyl work done

I've heard lots of bad about the removal process. Peels paint, leaves residue which can be a pain to get off, etc etc.

Older vinyl has much stronger and damaging adhesive and will/can peel paint if it's on there long enough! Sure, there will be some adhesive left over on parts that I put promoter on but think of the process that goes in to painting a vehicle. Would love to hear the scenarios of the "bad" too.

How much did this all cost and how is it holding up?

vester 07-15-2016 11:58 PM

I had no idea a single color wrap would run 3-5K. I always thought it was much cheaper.
