Central Oregon Off-Road Day (Around Bend, OR)

Anyone want to do some off-roading around the Bend area this weekend?

How about the following week instead? Would love to meet up with some fellow 4runner people in Bend sometime! This weekend is my B day and were busy.

Well happy early birthday! This week is my 3-day, the following is my 1-day so I am not sure I can do it then, but that doesn't mean we can't do more than one! :D

Not a problem, that's why I figured I'd start the thread on Monday. Worst case I suppose I could push it until next Sunday; but I'd like to try this weekend since it's my 3-day and I have Sat~Mon off.

...just found this thread.
I am free pretty much any time.
Looks like we got a bit a snow in the hills!!!

I could definitely go next weekend. I've got a buddy coming up from home to visit this weekend, so it's a no-go. However, I'll always be down for some off-roading or meet-ups.

Sadly this weekend is too busy for me.
Next weekend (15,16th) is looking considerably better.

Found the thread

And will be checking here more often.

I'm the FNG with a bone stock new ride.

I've had it a week.

It has a few hundred miles on it, including about 2 miles on dirt.

I'd love to go and get it dirty this weekend, but it looks like I have to head to Corvallis for some training.

Following weekend, however, I'm in!

Leaving the ride stock for now until I figure out what I want.

I sold my old FJ-40 because I overdid the mods and kind of stopped driving it. I tend to over-do stuff.

EDIT - I'm in Bend.

Lived there for 15 years good off roading there. Miss it.

Will it be a mud fest after the recent rains? What type of trails? Stock OK or sliders required?

I'm still not ready to look like a real 4Wheeler with pinstripes.
Damn, did not mean to sound like a mall princess.

Honestly I am still learning the trails out here, most of the places I have gone so far have a few lines or bypasses you can take. If you're stock height and stock tires you might have some difficulty, but worst case you just have to turn around and/or take the easy way out.

We all gotta start somewhere!

Well, hit me up with a PM for my number if you want to do something Sunday with me and BackOff. :)

As for, @ZPT_Yoda @GhostRing I am willing to go again next Sunday if you guys want (I'm working Saturday as it's my one day weekend, so it'd have to be Sunday); I can't commit 100% as I don't know the schedule next week. But as long as everything works out I'd be happy to go again with you guys next Sunday.

Cool, we gonna go tour the transient camps? out Chinahat.
Or maybe hit the hills? Edison turns into a snowmobile play area when the snow flys.
Was looking at a OHV map...is a cool 53 mile route, Chesley's Challenge, east Fort Rock area. Part of it just opened October 1st.(East Butte trail)
I guess George Chesley was the guy that got the Central Oregon OHV thing going in 1993. Looks like it may have a few very difficult sections but it looks to have move drivable bypass zones also.

South of East Butte.
There are sand dunes down NE of Christmas Valley, but that's 100miles one way.
Cool geology tour...Crack in the ground, Fort Rock, Derrick cave, Devils garden(lava flow) some more rain would be nice for out east...get REALLY dusty.

Will shoot ya a text this afternoon, Blackworks.

Stuck in Corvallis today, working tomorrow. All over it next weekend.

I did go up a logging road on the way over Tombstone this morning, just so I could see if any lights came on when I shift into 4.

I like having an actual shifter for 4WD. Since I sold my FJ40, all I've had are electric dials.

Next week. I'll PM when I'm back in town.

ZPT_Yoda 10-08-2016 11:22 PM

Sunday should be great. If things change just lemme know!
