Hey everyone, here is our install guide for the 4th gen Lo-Pro winch bumper.

Tools needed:
-10mm wrench/socket
-12mm wrench/socket
-14mm wrench/socket
-19mm wrench/socket
-7/16" wrench/socket
-Flat blade screw driver
-Masking tape
-Die grinder or skillsaw to cut plastic bumper

Start by removing the plastic bumper cover from the 4runner. We did not get pictures of all the exact plastic clip and screw locations.
There are plastic clips located along the top edge of the bumper below the grille that need to be removed. Also remove all of the screws with 10mm head that attach the plastic fender liner to the plastic bumper cover. Be sure to remove the blinker and fog light bulbs with wire harness attached as well so the can hang from the vehicle and allow the bumper cover to come off.

There are two hidden screws at each outer corner of the bumper cover where it meets the fender. be sure to remove those as well before trying to remove the bumper cover.

Once all hardware is removed, firmly grasp the outer corner of the bumper by the fender and pull out and forward at the same time. The plastic cover will pop loose and come off of the vehicle.
Here are some pics of the screw locations after the bumper was removed.

Now you can remove the steel crash bar and its mounting brackets from the front of the frame using the 14mm socket and wrench.
Also remove the rubber air dam on each side of the crash bar.

The rubber air dams and crash bar parts can be discarded, they will not be re-used. Save the 8 nuts that held the brackets to the frame, they will be used to mount the new Lo-Pro bumper to the 4runner.

Now you can move on to cutting the plastic bumper cover.
First remove the clips and screws that hold the plastic trim cover to the lower center portion of the plastic bumper cover. The plastic cover does not get re-used.

Now you will need to cut out the plastic area behind the cover that was just removed. You can use masking tape to create a line to cut next to if desired.

The plastic will need to be cut right in the grooved area where the black plastic meets the painted portion. Cut all the way up through the finned air dam area as well. Then cut all the way across the front to remove the entire finned area.
Use a sanding disk or knife and file to clean up the rough edges. The top portion along the center does not need to be perfect, it will get covered by the new Lo-Pro bumper.

Now the bumper cover can be re-installed onto the 4runner.
All screws and clips can be fully installed like normal. Also dont forget to install the turn signals and fog lights.
Fully attach the plastic inner fender liners to the bumper as well.

If you are installing a winch and LED light into your bumper, do that now.

Once the accessories are mounted into the bumper, the bumper can be installed onto the 4runner.

Have a friend help lift the bumper into place and install the original nuts that used to hold the crash bar brackets to the frame. Once the nuts are loosely installed, adjust the bumper on the studs to fit the cutout area as desired.
Now the nuts can be fully tightened.

Now install the 90 degree bent support brackets that mount to the back of the bumper and the side of the frame rails. Use the provided M12 bolt and 1/2" washer to hold the bracket in place on the frame. Then hold the bracket up to the bumper and install the 3/8" carriage head bolt and washers. adjust the brackets to sit flush against the frame and bumper mounting plate, then fully tighten them.

You will now need to drill a 5/16" hole through the lower corners of the plastic bumper cover where it meets the Lo-Pro bumper. There are mounting tabs welded to the sides of the bumper. Use those tabs as a reference to drill through the plastic. Once the holes are drilled through the plastic, the 5/16" bolts with washers can be installed and tightened to hold the plastic bumper cover in place.

Sorry we do not have any specific dates of when an 06-09 version may be available. We have not been able to locate a customer with an 06-09 4runner in our area that is willing to let us use it for designing one.
