Picked up a 2013 Trail Teams...
6 Attachment(s)
I was originally planning on picking up a 2017 cement gray TRDP and and giving my 2012 5th gen TE to my wife, but fell in love with a 2013 trail teams edition FJ about a month ago, which is now my DD/off-road toy. So far, I have thrown on some 285 KO2, 3" toytec bilstein kit, and SPC UCA's and have been really happy with it's off-road performance. I have quite a few mods planned before next spring and am looking forward to spending a lot of time off-road this coming summer. More to come! And yes, I am enjoying the FJ more than the 5th gen TE but still get to drive the TE whenever, which doesn't suck.
Here are a few pics. The first is a "before" pic. |
Good looking rig man:cool:
I've always liked the Cement second best! I've got an '11 NSSE, so I'm still a little partial to the Army Green!:tea: |
Nice rig! I've got the same situation in the garage...my '10 TTSE FJ and the wife's new '17 TRD Off Road 4Runner...best of both worlds!

You have a great looking TT

I was hunting for one of those when they were new. No dealership in CO had one for sale, all already reserved. Have fun!

The 2016 Toyota 4 Runner is an incredibly capable vehicle that can handle off-roding with ease. Depending on the trim level you choose, you can also enjoy numerous premium features or even an optional 50/50 third row that makes the 4 Runner great for families. :bump2:

Hey anyone, quick question. I've been looking to get a second 4Runner, a used one. Would an FJ be an acceptable alternative? I have a 2019 TRDOR, and a 2001 T4R that's being destroyed by frame rust. Whatever I get will mostly be driven by my wife. Around here, FJs with 100k miles can be found for around $15k. If they're not too different to drive from a 4R, I may widen my search. Thoughts, experiences? Thanks.

Someone in my neighborhood drives a cement grey. Slightly modded. Everytime I see it, makes me wanna find a cement grey one too but the cost makes me shy away from it. Also driveway space...can't justify having essentially two simliar vehicles in the same fleet hehe. Can enjoy the eye candy from these threads though.

Nice. Big fan of the Cement color on these.

I have a 5th 4th and 3rd gen 4 runner along with my tundra. If I replaced out trail rig 3rd gen it would be for an FJ. I think the FJ is 1 of the most capable 4 wd on the market. Much more reliable than the Jeep and perfect replacement for the 4 runner. My only hesitation would be room. I have 2 big dogs and a 3rd on the way and they love to take up the entire cargo space for themselves. All my gear fits on the roof and the back seat and the FJ doesn't have the room.
