4Runner Drawer/Storage system

The Drawer Plans are finally out!
After many efforts and delays, I am happy to announce to everyone that the drawer plans are finally out! :whoo:

This is a modular system designed for use in the 4th gen 4Runner that I built for myself. This means if someone wants to build just one part of the 4 part system, they should be able to. It also likely can be adapted to different generation 4Runners, hence me posting here as well!

My motivations for making this free are a direct result of the community. I have won t4r 4runner of the month in the past, I have met many people at local meets, and have have always had so many questions answered all for free. So, this is my way of saying thanks.

Use it for tailgating, use it to carry your recovery gear, camping gear, spare parts, or even kid's toys. Whatever makes you happy.

To get the plans, simply go to the website, add all of the items to the cart and checkout. It'll be $0.00 and you'll get a link in your email to download.

To order the parts, the list is on the website with amazon links.

Enjoy!

The middle carcasses are just boxes. So if you change the inner diameters across the board, and make some adjustments to fit the 3rd gen's storage limitations -it could work.

Rear Storage

This looks VERY well designed! Just to clarify; can the 2nd row seats be used, or must they be folded? If they can be upright, do you lose the recline?

The rear seats are still mounted properly and 100% factory angles.

Thanks!

I came from the honda and mercedes communities. 4runner by far is my favorite.

This is sweet. Wish I would have seen this before I built mine. Thanks for sharing!

This is so cool! I would like to build these, but not sure I want them in all the time. How easy are they to put in and out?

thanks for sharing! :bravo:

Why not build the side boxes so the tops hinge - allowing storage. This seems like wasted space unless I'm missing something.

Depnds on how you build it. If you just secure them to eachother at the back of the drawers, you could mount and unload them with just 6 bolts and maybe 2 minutes.

If you mount them internally to eachother, it requires you remove the sliders (i wish they were quick release)- this makes it more of a 30minute removal.

Wicked. I’ll shut up now.

This might be worth it for me to just build the sides. Hmmmm.

srpuywa 01-06-2018 09:20 PM

can the rear seat back still recline

George718 01-08-2018 04:53 PM
