07 Sport build
Bought my 4runner while deployed after my car got totaled. I bought it online through ebay and had it shipped out.
It had 104k miles and cost me 15k with the shipping. https://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h...psgmws51h2.jpg https://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h...ps76ddjfju.jpg I quickly did a lift, wheels and tires. Bilstein 5100s, Moog FJ springs and spacer up front, Icon 2.0 rears, SPC UCA 17" Tuff T01 wheels with 1.25 spacers, BFGoodrich 275/70 I also did Metaltech extended rear brake lines, as well as changing the other rubber lines to braided ones all around. Due to the lift I installed 3rd gen rear sway endlinks with energy suspension bushings, I also installed the ES front sway bushings. Diff drop and front sway drop adapters. New brakes all the way around to include Disk, Calipers, Pads. Weathertech floor matts. Coverking Neosupreme seat covers Pioneer head unit, component fronts, 6.5 rears, all powered by a 4 channel amp under the driver seat. I installed a powered Pioneer amp/sub under the passenger seat. Burtman set me up with the new Gibson dual side exit catback. https://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h...pscin427qc.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...pserzsbgcx.jpg I switched to a AFE magnum intake. I then bought a Bajarack. https://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h...pscuenyx3l.png Within my first 15k miles I did all of my servicing. Plugs, Trans fluid, front & rear end fluids as well as dif., coolant. Since I would be towing a travel trailer I also did a aux trans cooler. I put 40k on it in 2 years in this configuration. I had to change the front wheel bearings and a seal in the rear axle during this time. |
Armor time
I recently did a bunch of upgrades.
I started with a Y pipe from URD and a OPT7 50" light bar on the baja rack. C4 Fab hood scoop light bar as well. I have ordered URD longtubes and am currently awaiting there arrival. I also replaced the old yellowed headlights and installed some OPT7 Canbus HID lowbeams and LED highs. I then ordered the 4x Innovition DOM sliders and Coastal offroad Front bumper with 4 sets of light pods. I did all the welding and grinding. POR15'ed the sliders and had the bumper Powder coated. I installed a single row light bar on the back. I did the body mount chop to allow new tires to go on. I got another set of KO2's in 285/75. I also did the panhard riser bracket from EIMKEITH. Swapped to Toytec 2.5 springs up front and smaller spacers. Bajarack Hilift jack mount w/ jack and base I have a Smittybilt XRC 9500 Winch I will be installing very very soon. Bumper assembly https://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h...psfnlxznmy.jpg https://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h...ps4ebjs5gf.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...psmxfaus6t.jpg Body mount chop https://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h...pszjwoggkr.jpg Rear panhard bracket https://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h...psdl7ucr6m.jpg New BIG tires https://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h...psh5giqjoo.jpg https://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h...pshsyixcoc.jpg Hand slot I cut out to allow access to the hood release https://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h...psffjf0gu2.jpg https://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h...psyrlqh9pg.jpg Lights all installed https://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h...psg33nx6gx.jpg https://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h...psahxuodlz.jpg |
I plan to relocate the windshield wash res. and trim the excess factory sheet metal that is exposed in the front bumper area.
I also ordered New black hardware for the bumper as you can clearly see the old rusted ones in the pictures. I got new studs for the Long tube headers as I expect the ones on it now are going to give me trouble. Future plans will be a rear bumper with swing out. Upgrade shocks, maybe coilovers up front. Maybe fab some beefier skid plates as well. |
Nice.
Nice job... and thanks for sharing.. I have the same model/year and look forward to seeing your progress.

well done! thanks for your service, too

I agree- a lot of nice work and time put into this. Shows that sometimes buying an older model to free up the funds to put in upgrades works out. Certainly appreciate your time in the armed services for our country. Looks great

Thanks. Appreciate that.
