Rpreme's 2000 Highlander Mall Crawler
I think its time to start a build/maintenance thread for my 2000 Toyota 4runner SR5 Sport Highlander.
After years of searching I finally purchased this early last year from the original owner that was meticulous and gave me service records in a 3" binder. All maintenance work was done at Toyota in Fresno, CA. Initially searched for a limited with E-locker, but stumbled upon this low mileage non locker SR5 sport with no rust and fell in love. In the beginning how it looked for 8 Months https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7893/...8bb8a66c_c.jpg Current as of 1/16/20 https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...d5901f7a_c.jpg About the 4Runner.. 2000 SR5 Sport "Highlander" 4WD with no E-locker Purchased with 102,000 miles Current and future modifications Drivetrain -Auto with J shifter 4WD selector -4.10 ratio -Motor is stock with B&M Trans Cooler -ARB Rear Locker (Future) Suspension Full 3" OME lift Front -OME 60028 (Medium) shocks -OME 881 Coils with 1/2" spacer -Front Differential Drop Kit -Light Racing UCA's Rear -OME 60028 (Medium) shocks -OME 890 Coils Brakes -Stock brakes -Tundra 231 brake upgrade (Future) Wheels & Tires - -16" SCS F5 3.5 BS (-25) "Stealth Blue" w/ 285/75/16 Nitto Terra Grappler D (8 ply) Interior -Scangauge II -LED dome and interior lights Exterior -Eezi-Awn K9 Roof Rack (Half rack) Maintenance As of 2/24/18 -Replace Rack and Pinion along with tie rods -Lower Ball Joints -Fuel Meter and Circuit Board Components -Alignment -New Radiator and cap |
SCS 17x9 3.5 BS Ray 10
Removed the running boards..
Loved the SCS Ray 10's. When I heard they are finally releasing the 17x9 3.5 BS I was excited... They fit with a little cutting and pounding love.. 3/9/19 Install: Matte Gunmetal SCS Ray 10 17x9 3.5 BS with 285/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers (4ply) https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7914/...a485c124_c.jpg https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7898/...32c17924_c.jpg |
Perfecto! That deep lip is 10/10
Im still waiting for my 17x9 coppers to come in this month, been waiting 7-8 months for mine lol. Im going with the same setup 285/70 with C-load RGs. Its good to see them on a 3rd gen! Do you have any offset pictures of the poke? |
Wow, great find !! I'm assuming the interior is in as good condition as the rest of it.

They stick out about 2" past the limited/ SR5 flares up front and maybe about 2.5" in the rear and look aggressive. Definitely not for everyone. But I love em! Here are some pics for reference. Please excuse the dirt, I had a little bit of fun through some puddles over the weekend. Cleaned and detailed it the other day so snapped a pic...

Very Nice. Me like it.

Looks mean!
I have a black 1999 Highlander MT with the locker. I'm thinking of deleting the running boards and going to a slightly bigger tire size. |
Awesome looking truck. Are the ridge grapplers 33x12.5? hows the truck like rolling them?

Beautiful!! What sort of cutting/pounding did you have to do for these to not rub? |

Finally found a full set (inclusive of a spare) TRD Team Trail wheels for the trail. Debating on either 285's or 295's for this set..

A little bit of an update...
Finally got around getting some rubber for the TRD Trail Team FJ Wheels. Wrapped them with 285/75/16 Falken Wildpeak AT3W's. I loved the 55k mile warranty so went this route. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...19abd54b_c.jpg Installed the rears no problem. But since I had SPC UCA's they were rubbing. So I had to mitigate the situation by adding a 1" spacer up front.. Clearance up front with the SPC UCA's. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...e88c922e_c.jpg 1" BORA Spacers up front to add some clearance. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...09b8417f_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...e44c9fcf_c.jpg Final outcome.. Very happy! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...449840d3_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...07975846_c.jpg |
