First gen headliner
The headliner in my '88 runner is dirty and torn, I'm thinking of replacing it with something easier to keep clean. Had anyone else replaced it with a polycarbonate sheet or a thin sheet of aluminum? Also, please post pictures of this if you've got them. Thanks.

RAD4Runner did something like you're asking for in his Ruby Tuesday T4R first gen:

Used one-piece (not interlocking) version of "Best Step Anti-Fatigue Mat". Bought at Sears. Other stores may carry it. Zero maintenance. Stiff enough, you may not need any adhesive. That's a cool idea, act's as insulation as well.

Low-maintenance, modular, easy to remove/replace, utilitarian look. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/_-CBnhq7P98?start=108" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Old thread revival. That's a great idea. Trying to find something as similar as possible in grey. Is the diamond plate pattern on both sides of the mat?

Brand is Best-step. Available in many places. Pep Boys, Big Lots, etc. Got mine from Sears.
Only one side has diamond plate pattern. |
