Bilstein 5100 2.5" with 275/70/17

Hey All,

I know another 5100 thread... I am not seeing a lot of folks running their Bilstein 5100's at the 2.5" setting, and rather the 1.75". I am set to get them installed and purchased the 1.5" rear spacer from Cornfed as I was planning on going 2.5"/1.5". Is anyone running this amount of lift with 275/70/R17 KO2?

Thanks.

Just installed a set of Blistein 5100’s at 1.75” this weekend with stock rear suspension and 275/70R17 BFG KO2’s and it is perfect.

Have mine at 1.75" and stock rear with 275 70 17 Cooper AT3

If I have a shop do the front end work + alignment, and I do the rear with the 1" spacer and 5100 install afterwards, is another alignment necessary? Thanks.

I have the exact same setup as you but with Falken Wildpeaks. It’s a great look for the truck. Minor rubbing when in full lock on reverse but not a big deal at all. Do it! Here’s an image of the truck (on the left) next to a nearly identical 4Runner on the right.

275's fit with no lift so you should be able to run them 1.75" if you like, just add a 1" spacer in the rear for that combo.

I have a Pro and I am running 1.5"/1" combined with the 1" of the Pro Bilstein's with 275's and it has room for days. I almost certain I could run 285/70's and clear fine.

My 5100's are at the 1.75 setting and I have a 1" spacer in the rear - that gives me about 1" of rake - nose down. Without the spacer it is too level. With no rake and having 2 adults and/or gear in the back would ride "nose-high" for me.

Probably not, but if I were you, I would just have the shop install the front coilovers, and when you get home, do the rears and then take it to the alignment shop so they can check it all in the same session.

I decided the 1.75" / 1" was not going to be enough of a lift with 275/70/17 for my liking. So 2.5" / 1.5" it is, but I went ahead and also purchased a set of JBA UCA STD - it is my wife's DD and our family vehicle, and can't afford for it to drive like poop on the highway. :)

Thanks all. I will post pictures when it is done on Friday.

I have them at 2.5 front and a 1.5 Daystar rear with 275's......36K and looks good.

So everyone is talking about their settings on the 5100, but no one mentioned springs. Is everyone just reusing stock springs on the new perch on 5100s?

Yes, i'm running almost exactly what you mentioned except i have Daystar spacers in the rear and wheel spacers.

My alignment is within spec with the stock UCA's. I did have to trim the front bumper after i added the spidertrax spacers.

Got it all done over the weekend. Took me about 10 hours by myself. Posted my Before and After photos. The nose dive and body roll is completely gone. Rides like a dream!

2.5" Bilstein 5100 Front
1.5" Cornfed Rear Spacer w/ Bilstein 5100 Rear
JBA UCA STD
BFG KO2 275/70/17

Alignment After Install

Caster is at 3.9
Toe/Camber ~ 0.0

How’s the ride set at max? I heard some people said it was too stiff? My dogs would get sick in my Tacoma with 5100s stock height with ome 885s. Trying to find something smoother for the t4r

83Mule 04-24-2019 08:52 PM

I'm on stock springs and it rides mellow.....I would go stiffer but the wife likes the ride as is.
