4th gens running board lights wiring harness
Despite lots of searching, both on this forum and under my truck, I can't seem to locate the wiring harness plug that goes into the socket to power the lights on the "Limited" running boards.
I have a 2007 Sport, and I found several threads that state all models have the harness plug, even though only the limiteds use them. This makes sense, but I can't locate mine. Can someone confirm that all models do indeed have the plug? And can someone with a limited, or any model for that matter, post a pic showing the plug and where it comes from? If it matters, I picked up a set of lighted limited boards that I'm putting on my Sport Edition that I'd like to power up. Thanks, |

Also when I removed my limited steps the plug was roughly in the middle of them. |
I'm away from truck as well, but it's pretty blank under there. There are a couple of rubber plugs in the bottom of the body where I could imagine the harness may poke through, but I've fished around inside them pretty good with my finger and not felt anything. There are no loose wiring sockets exposed anywhere near where the running boards are.

Can anyone confirm there is a wire in the Sport Edition? I go on enough wild goose chases as it is, I don't need this to be one too. |
if you want to do it fast and easy, just run a relay harness from the battery, make sure to use the parking light as the trigger, if you want it on all the time with lights outside, now if you only want it on when the door open, then use the door trigger.

Still hoping someone will chime in and prove me wrong. |

Hey txclimber, any luck with figuring out the wiring for those lighted running boards? I have an '06 SR5 and picked up a pair of boards from a '06 Limited today. Looked under my truck and where the adapter would be, mine is also a plain rubber plug.
According to the attached PDF, there's a step of running a wiring harness along the front door sills of the truck and into the dashboard tunnel. I'm unable to find a part number for and it doesn't appear anyone on eBay has this listed for sale. |
Long time from the original post, but these are the part numbers I wrote down in my maintenance book when I replaced one on my '08 Limited.
Might help if you find a 12v feed you can use. Socket - 90075-60005 Connector - 90980-11162 |
