My Victory 4X4 Build
I just wanted to share some photos of my Victory 4x4 install. I really like their designs, and decided to stick with them for my major upgrades and make it a 'Victory Bulid'.
I'm usually traveling solo, or with one other person, so my approach is to do just a few key upgrades, carry my gear inside the truck, and keep my truck as simple and lightweight as possible. That means no add-on front or rear bumpers, roof racks, or skid plates. Definitely no RTTs, showers or awnings either. I prefer to drive more slowly and carefully, than to race across the desert tearing it up. I went with their Blitz sliders (from the Jan. sale), the roof crossbars (4), and a Molle panel. I like the Molle panel so much, I've ordered a second one. The lights were wired to a dedicated switch in the center console. The roof racks have four carabiner anchor points, four cargo loops, and two spots for my off-road whips (and a go-pro mount up front) On the roof, I plan to add a hi-lift bracket, and rotopack mounts for gas, as well as carry my rescue tracks. (My tires are standard size, so the spare is underneath.) The largest thing I plan to carry is a Kayak, but I'd like to be able to have a platform on top for stargazing too. (FWIW, the lift is Bilsteins all-around, 1.75" up front, 1" Toytec rear spacer and a diff drop. Tires are standard size General Grabber AT/X - love 'em!) https://oi1213.photobucket.com/album...1/IMG_6943.jpghttps://oi1213.photobucket.com/album...1/IMG_6945.jpghttps://oi1213.photobucket.com/album...1/IMG_6947.jpg https://oi1213.photobucket.com/album...1/IMG_6950.jpghttps://oi1213.photobucket.com/album...tput_10da.jpeghttps://oi1213.photobucket.com/album...ited-image.png |
Looking good. I wish the roof rails had a bit more clearance. If they flex at all, it would be very bad. Perhaps they are incredibly rigid and wont flex, but with two 60 lbs kayaks or RTT, I would be a little concerned. Can you confirm if that is an issue?

Edit: I should probably add that I'm super happy with the results! (I left that part out!):bounce: |
I really like the sliders..On the roof rack, can you buy those anchor points separately?? I've got a different brand but those look like they would work.

How is the wind noise with the Roof Rack and Cross Bars?

Today I added skateboard grip tape to my Blitz sliders. I like it!

Hopefully the OP sees this or someone has done similar.
I had the diff drop done when doing my lift. Now I am interested in the Victory Skids. Will I need a spacer just in the back. if so, what size spacer did you use? Thanks in advance. |
