Best Toyota Shop in Phoenix, AZ?
Finally getting around to buying the Doug Thorley Shortie Headers, Magnaflow High Flow Cats, and CEL's from Jason of Burtman Industries.
Was hoping some other AZ runners could point me to a good Toyota shop or even just an exhaust shop you've had good experiences with in order to have everything installed. The runner's registration is up at the end of this month, and I'm quite confident it won't pass with the headers in their current state. Plus Im just excited for the increase in power and gas mileage, and I've been driven crazy by the ticking. Thanks in advance! Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk |
Go give Chris a call at Scottsdale Muffler & Automotive. They put on m DT headers and exhaust. Great work and fair pricing.

I have e-mailed Lopers Performance in Phoenix. I was Told they can do the Headers and Y-pipe No Problem. I will give them a Call about Price. I am going DT Long Tube, and DT Y-pipe. Then maybe Dirty Deeds Cat Back. So No Cutting or Welding. I will report back on there Estimate.

When finished this is what it will look like. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0o2cheat/5.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0o2cheat/6.jpg Side by Side comparison of the original and now modified non foulers http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0o2cheat/7.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0o2cheat/8.jpg O2 Sensor inserted in the modified non fouler http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...0o2cheat/9.jpg Second, unmodified non fouler now installed on modified non fouler http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...o2cheat/10.jpg Original non fouler->Modified non fouler->O2 sensor http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...o2cheat/11.jpg Fully installed one of my other vehicles, but I did the exact same with my DT setup. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...o2cheat/12.jpg You can use one longer non-fouler which is what I did after the first time I did this, just make sure it is the same diameter for the O2 sensor. Whatever route you go make sure you have a setup for both sides of the exhaust. They also have these on Ebay and other vendors, however they are usually $15+ for the same thing. Up to how much work you want to put in, if drilling is too much. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/YFAAA...IM5/s-l300.jpg What this does is it moves the O2 sensor further away so a limited amount of exhaust gets to the O2 sensor, it is a VERY little amount that actually gets to the sensor but as long as it is considerably less than the primary O2 sensor then it wont cause a CEL. |

So you're gonna run no cats essentially? Are you worried about the smell at all? Or worried about getting a visual inspection during emissions testing and them seeing there's no cats?

Just a heads up for anyone in AZ in the future, Scottsdale Muffler and Automotive quoted me just $486 to install the DT Shorty headers and high flow cats on my '04. Including a free re-torque after 5-7 days! Sounds more than fair if you ask me, but thanks to some input from members on here I might be doing the long tubes instead.

Glad the recommendation is able to help so many. Scottsdale Muffler is hands down the best in the valley.
