4th gen LED interior

Recently bought a used 2005 4Runner that had the OEM incandescent lightbulbs.
Thought it would be a good start for my first mod to change them to LEDs.
Ou boy was I not ready for how bright they are in comparison.

I used different bulbs than you, but it makes an incredible difference. The stock lighting is soooo bad.

I just got my 4th gen too. Was it easy to replace all of the lights? I'm guessing its plug and play, just a couple of screws on each one.

One of the first need mods for sure, I used a PFrans kit

I did the LED update as well, but recommend using red leds for the maplights.

The first time your SO or date hits the switch going down the road your nightvision is gonzo....

Thats the only reason I havent updated my lighting, but red LED's is a great idea!

From first hand experience, red makes it so much easier on your vision. Unless you’re trying to actually find or read anything then it sucks.

It would be great to somehow have a "red mode/white mode" switch!

Totally doable, or put red on the passenger side and white on the drivers. The bright leds are going to flood the space anyhow.

I swapped mine out for the LED several years ago. When in very dark conditions its worth the pennies.

It wasn't actually all that easy. Had to search for videos of others installing them. I mean the light bulbs themselves are easy to take and and replace, taking the trim off is tricky.

I see your point, might just try it out if I ever get a hand of a red LED.

Still haven’t gotten around to this yet, but definitely want to do it, but in addition would also like to run the wires to do the map light mod so the front illuminates with the doors being opened. I wonder who thought it was a great idea to illuminate that feature!?:wtf:

pretty good idea. this is one thing i've been wanting to do forever but have yet to do. never thought of the blinding lights up front while driving.

I'll try to post up a pic tonight.
