The Elka suspension thread

So I decided to give Elka a try since I don't see many folks have that kit on their rigs.
Plus, these are made of aluminum to battle against harsh chemicals in winter and I live in Canada where winter lasts about 8 months in my area. I also realized that parts would be easier for me to get when I rebuild/maintain them since they are made in Canada.

I have a 2017 Limited and my goal is to make it look leveled and have better performance than the Fox setup on the 2019 trd pro while off-roading. This may sound weird but I always wanted to have a trd pro but eventually, I realized it is all just marketing and my limited has things that are more useful than what a trd pro can provide such as full-time 4wd and dual climate control, so I decided to turn my limited into an unlimited.

I didn't get dual compression adjuster since I knew I would be too lazy to play with them down the road (hopefully I won't regret not getting them in the future). I will keep you updated as soon as I put them on as I am still waiting for FN six shooters to come so I can install the tires and suspension all at once. For the tires, I went with Falken Wildpeak AT3 P265/70/17.

Those look very nice! I'm familiar with the brand from ATV's and such, cool to see they are making stuff for trucks now too.

What spring rate did you go with for the fronts?

700lbs since that’s what Elka recommends. They all come with 700lbs springs unless you ask them to give you different springs but I already told them that I don’t have any additional weights and they still recommended 700,so hopefully I will be fine.

Nice!
Very curious to see what your take is on these as I think our goals and expectations are very similar.

If you don't mind me asking where did you purchase from?

I've never heard of them but they look nice. 700# seems kinda heavy so I'm interested in seeing what you think once they are on.

At that price why would anyone choose those over KINGS? King are the world leader in offroad suspension for a reason for last couple decades. Just sayin

Almost any professional truck or rock crawler you will see KINGS on them and it looks like these are the same price

This will sound like a smart-ass remark but I believe the OP explained why.

Aluminum
Made in Canada
Easier to rebuild due to his location and manufacturer location (both Canada)

If I buy stuff from Canada to the US all the time why would it be difficult to get replacement seal kit from US to Canada?

I've already got my Kings, but I've been curious about these and look forward to seeing more about 'em!

700lbs is a lot of spring if you dont have about 100-150lbs hanging off the front of the rig.

Thank you for the comment and you are right Ryan. I was concerned about that in the beginning ,so I contacted Elka and they told me 700 lbs is what they recommend for a stock 4runner,so I chose to believe them. But we will see what happens once I put them on.

I'd be interested to see what they recommend for rig with a steel bumper, winch etc.
