2004 17" GX470 rims on 99 SR5 w/ Tundra brakes? Did I mess up?

So, I wanted to get rid of my wheel spacers, so I saw a set of used 17" 2004 GX470 rims with 265/65/r17 tires.

I took my 16 inch stock off, took the wheel spacer off. I put on the Lexus rim described above and now it looks like there's an off set issue? These don't fit? Did I waste my money man...

lol tighten them up. it'll center.

might want to use toyota lugs. not sure if those lugs are long enough for the thread???

Is that the truck from your signature? Do you have spacers on, cause that's what your sig says? I'm wondering whether or not these clear the first gen Tundra brake upgrade without spacers.

I'll put the Toyota lugs back on, but these lugs worked fine with the oem 16's.

You will need to use OEM lug nuts on the wheels. Those aftermarket conical seat lugs will not seat on the wheel correctly.

Like these.

Definitely the wrong lugs, those black conical lugs are for aftermarket wheels. Like @crazydubman said, you need the OEM style.

Those GX wheels should clear Tundra calipers without spacers, GX470s use larger front brake calipers that require a minimum 17" diameter wheel to clear.

LOL, You need Toyota MAG lugs.

U need to run OEM lugs to run OEM rims. Those black lugs will not seat your rims correctly.

Newbie here...interested in this setup

Hey guys - newbie here to the 3rd gen forum. I have a 1998 4runner SR5 and got ahold of 2003 GX470 wheels. Would love to partner them up. But sounds like I need to upgrade my brakes to Tundras and also get longer wheel nuts? For the wheel nuts, do any of you have the lock type?

Sorry, I know these questions are probably second nature to you all. Looking to up mine to all your standards!!

Tundra brake calipers are larger than 4Runner calipers, and so can have problems clearing stock (15" or 16") 4Runner wheels if you upgrade to Tundra brakes. But if the GX470 wheels are 16", then you shouldn't have any issues clearing the standard 4Runner brakes.

As far as the lug nuts are concerned, take a look at the pictures posted above showing the OEM style lugs. As long as that is the style on your 4Runner, then you don't need to worry about the lug nuts. If yours don't look like the OEM lugs, then they probably won't fit the GX470 wheels.

The Tundra brake upgrade will make the front brakes bigger to avoid disc warping - this is not needed if you want to fit the Lexus wheels. Use OEM style lug nuts so they center correctly.

You do not need to upgrade front brakes to use those wheels
