5th Gen Roof Rack Build
I built a low profile roof rack for my fiancé’s 5th gen. It uses the factory rubber roof pads and mounting locations. She wanted it to be low and simple. I’m finishing up a second one with more of a basket style for a friend’s TRD Pro. Currently designing a small fairing for the front to minimize the wind noise.
A local shop Line-X’ed it and I had my logo laser cut into the rear mounts. Just mounted it up yesterday! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d9e5c25c12.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f99873bc98.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9e43124bd6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a77b004d14.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Hopefully soon! I’m currently tweaking my welding fixture and files for the laser cut parts. I’m a one man show and this is my “side business” at this point. I’m working out of my garage, but have plans to expand! I’ll definitely become a vendor in the near future and start getting a couple of these out! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Very nice

It’s 1.75” OD tube, 1/8” and 3/16” plate for the mounting structure. It took a bunch of time to design the mounting surfaces, but I like to keep as close to OEM as possible! Everything is still hand cut (this is rack #1) at the moment, except the logo plates. I had those laser cut by sendcutsend.com. I just checked out your build thread quick, you do nice work as well! Got and drawings of the basket style? I am looking for a roof rack.

Solid work! looks professional, unlike most DIY rack builds lol

Here’s a few pictures of the basket style. I haven’t mounted it to the truck yet since it was Line-X’ed. I took some design cues from the stock TRD Pro rack but keep it much slimmer. The front feet are adjustable on this version, so I can put a little down pressure on the roof channel. It gets 3M tape and stainless fasteners as well.
This rack is for my friend. Her photography business’ logo is a daisy so I added that little touch. The logo plate is laser cut, polished stainless. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4f8b80bbca.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...165325b48e.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3cd84ca726.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d6b98a1a5a.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...367278a861.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
