RCI Skid Plate & SSO Slimline Bumper Combo

My apologies if this might have come up before, but I am looking at the RCI skid plate system as well as the SSO Slimline Bumper. I have read on other forums that people have had to trim down the RCI skid in order to fit the SSO Slimline. Just wondering if anyone has this setup and can confirm there is a fitment issue?

Looking to install on my 2019 TRD Off-Road w/KDSS.

Nope, just did it this weekend. Fit fine.

RCI skid plates fit fine with any aftermarket bumper.

If you purchase a RCI filler plate which is designed to mate a OEM bumper to the RCI skid plate, that piece won't fit any aftermarket bumper (it only fits oem bumpers). However, people have figured out that they can buy the RCI filler plate and modify it to fit the SSO bumper to get more protection (radiator protection).

Most aftermarket bumpers leave a small gap near the bottom portion of the radiator exposed about 2 inches from the end of the bumper and beginning of the skid plate. People found out that the RCI filler plate can cover that exposed area easily and then remove the excess steel with an angle grinder. It's easier to cut off steel than it is to bend and shape steel, at least for me it is.

Got it - that must be what some of the trimming comments were about. Granted it was in a Taco forum, but I was concerned with dropping the cash for the SSO only to have fitment issues. Sounds like the mod on the filler plate is the way to go in order to get better coverage all around.

Fits fine. About a 1" gap between for sticks to go up and poke your rad though.

That’s the gap I was referring to, and u can modify the rci filler plate to gap the gap.

I’ll take pics later to show the forum

Watch this video then check out LFD Off-roads hybrid front bumper.

You really need good access to the clutch, the controller, and good visual on the line as it is spooled up.

The two mate up nicely, much better then most bumper/skid combinations. There is a tiny gap but certainly not enough to go to the hassle and expense of trying to fill.
