Hopefully picking up a GX today

Well I've found two GX's that I like for the money.
One will require a flight and a road trip, the other is local.
I'm leaning toward the local one, it's 2k less and it's got KDSS and the separate AC controls.

The service records are fantastic, dealer maintained. It's got 180k, timing belt was done at 120. It has no recorded accidents. Given the service history I think it's all factory.

The out of state GX only has 140k on it but it also has 4 minor accidents on the records.

So yeah, I think the higher mileage with KDSS is winner here. Only complaint I have is wear on the drivers seat, but I figure I can have it repaired by a good upholstery guy.

No such thing. The same as saying minor surgery. No such thing.

Any accident represents diminished value, but four is asking for trouble if you buy it.

Good luck,

Eddie

don't rush it, you'll find the right one. If you ask for the right pics and videos you don't need to fly out anywhere, just have it shipped!

Sorry for hijack the thread, but I plan to pick up a 2004 Gx470 with 150k, timing belt, shocks and struts, rollers joints and tye rods have been replaced. Asking price 8k. Is this a good deal? and what should I look for?
Thank you

If it's had the rear bumper replaced due to a parking lot accident, for example, as long as the work was done properly and the paint matches, I wouldn't expect it to impact resale value in any way.

You need to be able to look in person though, don't take chances that shoddy work was done.

New member here looking for advice. looking at an 05 GX470 here locally. looks in ok-decent shape maybe a little rough. interior isn't in bad shape.

from the brief look I took at it today the main issues are.
the motor sounds like it has a knock in it till it warms up then sounds fine.
the ODO doesn't work at all. the last recorded reading of the ODO was 234k miles.
check engine light is on (don't know what for at the moment)

what are things I should be looking at for maintenance needs on it?
they are asking $4999 for it but will try to talk them down to maybe $4,200 for it as it will need new tires right away. the dealer said the guy who traded it in had replaced some of the wear items recently but they didnt have any paper work to confirm this. I would plan on at least having one of the local toyota/lexus dealers look it over for me too. would be using this mainly has a commuter car for work/around town with it sitting for 2/3 of the time when I have a work truck.
