Chrome hubcaps on steel rim wheels - Anywone running em' or ideas how to attach em'

Hi guys
Anyone running chrome hubcaps on their steel wheels? Like the police cruisers?
Can you post pics, or link for more info?

I have the regular black steel OEM rims and am chasing this look. I did search on the forum here but the results are mostly about repainting the rim caps for aluminium wheels...
Maybe Im not querying the search engine correctly, I'll try again :flame:

I am running Tundra 16" Steel wheels.

I tried running OEM vintage Landcruiser center caps on these wheels. The ones with the "toyota" script. I think from an FJ60...

Because the steel wheels from Tacomas (and most modern Toyotas) are a compression-fit to the hub, it wouldnt work.

I was wondering - have you tried to fit a front steel hub cap to the rear hub? It looks like it might fit same way as it fits on the front... I will check it out on mine...

Yes I have tried. The Steel wheels I have are a compression fit to the hub, front or rear. Therefore, the hub mating area will push off any center caps I try.

I havent successfully been able to run a center cap on my Tundra steel wheels

See my thread and Post #10 within it:

I wanted to run these but never could. The mating surface of the hubs on the 4runner itself wouldnt allow for it

Oh sorry my bad! I after I saw your post, I realized we weren't talking about the same thing. What I meant was the caps that cover the hub axle nut. They are very close in shape to the first post pic of the police cruiser, and are also compression fit to the actual hub, not the steel wheel.

Here is the part number - 4351428010
Those caps Im wondering if they will fit in the rear hubs, like they fit on the front. If maybe I chrome them they will look similar.
Will let you know if they fit!

Hey i tried to fit the front regular steel pressure-fit hubcaps on the rear axle, but the axle is just a but wider than the hubcap.

It would have been perfect tho. But whatever.

We'll think of something else.
