Dead Battery - how to open the hood
I was on vacation and when I come back the battery is dead on my 5th Gen. Not even lights flash when I push the button on remote.
Does anyone knows how to open the hood from outside, so the battery can be recharged? Door lock cylinder is broken and 5th Gen for some reason now has only driver door lock cylinder, my 4th Gen has one on the driver door and another on the hatch door, but for some reason Toyota stop making this. |

Go check Facebook or some local pages, someone will come pop the locks for 20 bucks, 40 tops.. people who do provebroadside assistance. Theyll wedge the door and use the big ole stick to flip the lock

A long arm should be able to reach the hood latch (if not one of the other door locks), you will have to wedge your door out at the top rear corner, just don't get gnarly with it and it should be okay. One of these: like $30 on amazon 4 Piece Standard Long Arm Car Opening Tool Kit | PRO-LOK Comes with everything you need, chances are this is what a locksmith is going to use. |

I ask because AAA covers the vehicle members ride in, too (not just what you own). So if a buddy has AAA, he could call them for you, so that he can get into your truck to get his stuff... Good luck. |
