So I didn't take as many pictures as I should have. But I'll try to explain the best I can with some after pics.

Followed this thread to do the Trimming, so all props to him. How To: Trimming/Cutting Fenders

But instead I used a 4.5 inch cutting wheel, oem clips from amazon, and I just hand traced it instead of making a jig.

There's a couple 10mm bolts holding in the fender flare. Once all of them are out, just yank the flare out. Don't worry about being gentle, all the clips are going to snap. There's no saving them.

Run a line of blue tape over the flare, roughly where you plan to trim. With a sharpie, or any marker, trace the original flare up 2 inches, or however much you wish to trim. I followed the original curvature to keep and OEM look.

Then trim it with a cutting wheel following your line. It will be kind of a rough cut and it's hot plastic that'll shoot out at you. To clean up the flare, I used some 100 grit sand paper to smooth the edges.

Once the flare is trimmed, mock it up to the fender to check how much of the actual fender to trim. Then trim that with the cutting wheel as well, following the oem curve. It doesn't have to be a clean cut as the flare will hide it. Also trim the bumper to fit the flare, cut as much as you want.

Rip out the fender liner, you can always just spray down the engine bay when it's cool.

Use the amazon clips to reattach the flare, they're the exact same clips and 10 bucks with prime, and boom it's done. Takes about 2 hours to do

If anyone needs more clarification just lmk. And it was my 2nd time using a grinder/cutting wheel so just about anyone can do it tbh.

Also for anyone worrying about the intake vent being exposed, I went out to Pine Valley and got mud all over the truck. The engine bay is dirtier forsure, but I had no issues with the intake. I have a K&N and the filter was actually cleaner than expected. It is just more to clean if that's what you're worried about. but no check engine lights or whatever.

Doesn't look too hard. I'm getting an off road bumper so I don't care about what I cut off. Guess I will give this a try on my next day off.

Did you end up just pulling all of the fender liner? I have a bumper coming soon and probably am going to do the same. Rubbing already at 285's.

Good job on the cut and keeping the factory lines! Looks OEM but better from way back.

Yeah I ripped it all out. I didn't want to deal with cutting it up to work with the trimmed flares.
