Scangauge II in the coin holder.

Got bored hacked up my insert panel/ center console garnish 58831-35010. Coin slot is useless (other then holding tiger balm to dip your balls in to stay awake on long trips).

Love the location. Perfect use of the space and it fits rather square if you hack it right. Held in place with gorilla tape at the moment. Did a 6 or 7 hour long nightrun to make sure I liked the location.

Is there any way I can mold this into the panel and keep it serviceable? Thoughts on ways to mount it that won't look like hot garbage?

If all is lost I'll buy a new panel and mount it in one of the dash cubbies.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9bd3d3dc03.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d664fadb31.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f7398a6182.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e34d8cadd9.jpg

Neat idea, but it's angled facing away from you...

Lots mount it on top of the steering wheel trim, at the edge of the gap. Not sure about the newer gauge cluster but in the old style having scangauge there didn't impeded any view.

Up nevermind found a pic with the newer style gauge cluster... of course I guess "hot garbage" in the the eye of the beholder :)

Yeah I had mine in the space between the steering column and the gauge cluster. But, I had to lean forward to read it. No a fan of mounting it on the column as I have to look the ugly 3m tape, ugly 3d printed mount, and it obstructs part of my cluster. It looks super out of place up there IMO.

Just seeing if anyone has a suggestions on how I can make what I posted look good (if it's possible). Looking for maybe people with experience molding fiberglass or general custom interior work.

Tiger balm on your balls is nothing to joke about. I'm pretty sure they use that shit in Guantanamo to crack the real tough nuts.

You really want someone to suffer apply medicated foot power to the balls/labia and anus. :thumb3:

Curious what would happen if you hit that with a heat gun strategically and slowly pushed the scangauge into the holder to slowly mold its way in? Is that possible?

It would be possible but you won't be able to reinstall the panel. The dash piece it clips into (fake carbon fiber piece) is molded for even the coin tray (which i had to drill to run the wire). So even if you did this it wouldn't fit back in. Not to mention it's fitment just so as is. Anymore inset and the piece will lose it's structure and mounting clips.

Didn't take the best photos but the gauge is sitting square on the little corner cut outs on the backside. You can see the back corner sticking through the bottom in the first photo.

Well funny you mention it, I think a scan gauge looks out of place no matter we’re you stick it in a 2000+ model year anything.

You could get yourself some pro-poxy and mold up a mount. That sh!t is gold for construct anything that is semi-organic shaped, sands great and paintable.

Else strike up a cad/3d mold but pro-poxy is way cheaper.

True ha it's a bit dated. Prob be best to take it apart a make a new housing. I'll look into this pro-poxy stuff thanks for the suggestion!

That's exactly where I was thinking of putting mine if all else fails. Decent little spot. I use that cubby for my wallet and gum tho...
