Tire question
Long story made short, I’m picking up a full size spare this next week as I previously had an undersized spare.
I’m hoping to rotate this in with my set (same tire as my set on the truck now) but I’m a little concerned as I have exactly 20,000 on them. Will it be an issue rotating in a brand new tire with my 20,000 mile tires? For what it’s worth the tires have worn super well, and I’d be rotating the new spare into the right rear. |
Same brand same tire same size YOULL BE FINE. THE DIFF WILL NOT CARE.
If you cannot sleep at night put new tire on right rear and make a sharp right turn and step on it. Do it twice. Good to go. This is if you are an extremely perfectionist 100 percent everything perfectly lined up and done to the T type of person. |
I've seen little to no benefit from a 5 tire rotation for what it's worth. My spare stays when I rotate even though I always have a matching tire/wheel.

In 5 years you will "save" what? A hundred bucks? And more wear and tear on spare tire carrier area.
