HVAC illumination, specific question other than replacement neo LEDS.

I replaced the bulbs behind the HVAC controls. On each of the three dials, the selector light comes on when you choose (ie switch from face air to legs air).

The illumination at night of all three dials does not work, they do not have a back light that lights each single HVAC option.

QUESTION:
Does one single bulb cover the illumination of all the options or does each dial have illumination provided by their individual dial?

Probable Solutions:
1. Something is wring with the wiring for the illumination?
2. A single bulb covers all three and I inserted with wrong polarity?

Trying to figure out how to diagnose the night illumination on these HVAC controls.

Thanks.

This diagram should help, keep in mind that the HVAC controls are different on the Limited with the Dual Zone vs. the SR5 single zone controls.

Is this what you mean? See my center knob and how none of the options are illuminated orange like the two outside knobs. Since this picture, I replaced most of the bulbs (and now the LCD is fully illuminated, but haven't located the problem for my center knob. And yes, I replaced the 90010-09015 and two 90010-09016s in the above diagram. It almost has to be circuit board related, unless I am missing something!

apohl17,
I believe my problem lies either in some issue with my wiring illumination in general or the circuit board of the HVAC controls. To add to the discussion, the buttons on the left side of my steering wheel don't illuminate either.

I may need to start diagnosing wiring etc. I was hoping it was an easier problem to solve buy alas, I think it's one of those painful slow wiring checks.

AuSeeker,
I replaced all the bulbs shown in the FSM exploded view you posted. I even double checked for polarity etc. So you've answered part of my question which is I have taken care of the bulbs and ruled them out.

do you have the dimmer half going on with the readout panel above the knobs? scope it sometime and give it a little love tap if so, brought mine back for a while. mine was on the right side.

This is an older picture, the left side bulb was just burnt out. It's been replaced since! New bulb and the whole shebang is orange now. Except for the center knob readouts...

I think I've given up on LED for these. The 12v don't work and just looking for a plug and play LED bulb. Appreciated the link will get a couple.

I went all LED in my 3rd gen and as much as they are nice, I had a bunch of them flicker and fry out in subzero temps during camping trips. The OEM should last me a while, and frankly, I don't mind the orange one bit...

I even bought a bag of LED 6v from amazon hoping I can get it to work but to spend that much F-ing time on 2 F-ing bulbs is crazy. Ill return the bulbs to amazon and stick with the OEM. was able to get the other lights to light up using the NEOs.

I have a related question...

My center console display (LCD with time/MPG) is not illuminating and doesn’t appear to be getting power (checked with a multi-meter).

The odd thing is there is power for all the surrounding lights (AC controls, Airbag light) just not the actual display.

Is there a fuse specific to the display?

Thoughts on what could be causing the issue??

I'm not entirely sure this pertains the discussion, but here you guys go:
