Finally bought a 3rd gen!

Been holding out for a week or two now but finally got me a 3rd gen! Wanted to make a topic asap but had to get 10 comments or something? Lol.

Plans for her are to make it an overlander fully done out for long getaways. 12v systems, DC to DC setups, the whole nine yards.

Her first real long trip will be up to the yukon from Vancouver, so that should be sweet.

Had experience before, but to do it 4runner I think will be alot more satisfying and pleasing.

Thanks! Pretty stoked. To rip something apart. So far it's just the steps and trailer hitch for now till I get over this pneumonia.

So you are adding a trailer hitch or taking one off??

Congrats on getting a neat 3rd gen!!

First thing I would do is oil the frame to prevent rust.

Keep us posted w/build & trip-

Good buy! You won't regret it. Like said above, first step would be rust prevention for winter.

Any luck tracing down your steering wobble?

I took mine off for now. Didn't see a point in keeping extra weight on it atm. Its been hella fun ripping on it. This week I'll be taking some measurements of the back to create a base for storage compartment, fridge slider and dual battery with 12v system in the back. All this while making the second row of seats still functional.

No not yet, havent had a chance, low energy with pneumonia lately. Hoping this weekend I can do some things to the vehicle. Oil change, some bulbs changed out etc and hopefully take apart the steering. But I have a feeling it's the shaft or the joint head/ball by the wheel. Tie rods/checked steering guides and they were ok. I have 1"x0.25" pins ready to pin the shaft but I might look for something smaller. Quarter inch pins are rather still too beefy if an accident were to take place.
