Daytonaviolet's build thread

Hey guys,
I finally got a 5th gen about a month ago, but i've been hoarding all kinds of parts for like 8 months. I finally found a local car at the right price and configuration. It's a 2016 Blizzard Pearl Limited. But honestly I’ve always been a fan of the Pro look but liked the creature features (full-time 4x4, keyless entry, push start, leather seats, dual climate) of the Limited. I guess my build will look more like a fake Pro :police: Exterior: 1. TRD hood - done 2. TRD front bumper/valance -done 3. TRD pro suspension - 2018 pro - done 4. TRD skid plate - done 5. TRD pro roof rack - done 6. TRD pro wheels - done 7. predator steps - for the kids, done 8. cornfed spacers - 2/1.5 - done 9. trail edition rockers -done 10. gobi ladder 11. plastic dipped tailgate garnish Interior: 1. led interior lights - done 2. TRD shift knob - done 3. A pillar handle Mods I plan to get: 1. tires -nitto ridge grapplers - done 2. led lights - sv4 i'll post pictures as i install each of the pieces. keep in mind, this is currently my daily driver so i want to keep the mods mellow :guitar2: Attachment 348728https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b13a3c4d62.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...72430edf71.jpg |
Congrats! Nice 4R.
Its about time as I know you've been scooping up all the good stuff. Post pics as you get it all on there. |
Can I ask a dumb question? What is the point of putting on the TRD Pro suspension but then adding a spacer lift to it?

If I had a Limited, I would have just dropped the coin on something that cost similar to the Pro Suspension but is an actual lift kit. But to each their own. |

Good question [emoji56]. The TRD pro suspension is a very capable stock suspension which I got at a very reasonable price. I’ve driven a few of them and liked the stock feel but yet firm and it’s ~ 1” higher then other runners. I wanted a stock ride feel but wanted to level it a bit . I saw this thread and saw that Cornfed was a good solution. It would feel like a stock TRD pro but with a little lift. I figure I’d give this option a try before deciding on which lift to go with. there are not many nice lift kits ~ $700 range. The lifts I was looking at were more in the $2500-$3500 range. I need to wait a while before I could get into a 3” lift. For the mean time I think the pro suspension level route will work for a few months [emoji2957] |

I love my set up. |

Yes those are the cons I’m hoping for as well. |
Referencing your first picture and noticing the garage door height, if you plan to continue parking in the garage you might want to make sure that you can clear the garage door. The new suspension, lift, and 2019 TRD Pro roof rack might create a clearance issue. Just a thought.

I normally park outside. I only parked in the garage to install the led interior lights. I was shocked that the length fit as I have cabinets attached to the wall taking up ~ 2’. Putting on the pro rack will most likely happen after the suspension. Once the rack goes on, I doubt I’ll be able to enter the garage. I may be like 1/2” clearance. But my gen4 spent all of her life outside. Currently my gen5 also stays outside [emoji2957] |

It was actually a used set which the owner stated had ~ 5k miles. I was shocked at the lack of wear so I wanted to give them a try. The Cornfed spacers was an after thought after a saw the TRD pro lifted thread. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...471251163c.jpg |
I ran a Cornfed 1" spacer in the rear for a while with no issues but it was a little too level for me with the front being at +2, later found a deal on the Dobinson springs, it's about 1.75-2" in the rear. If you stay at +1 in the front, the CF will look fine.
