Just Got 99' 4Runner
 

I just found this site a few days after getting my new RUNNER. Very Cool w/ alot of good info!!!!!!!

99'4 Runner is stock (to my knowledge) w/ 67K on it.

There are no badges on back except for 4RUNNER and TOYOTA. Does have wheel flares and tow package w/ cloth int. Did not come w/ cargo cover :>{

Any way to tell TRIM??

Does it have a hood scoop? What type of fender flares - black plastic or color matched? Are the bumpers colored matched or chrome?

There was the base model (no flares), SR5 (black plastic flares), Highlander edition (black plastic flares-scoop-colored matched bumpers), and limited (color matched flares).

Sounds like yours is the SR5 trim with tow package.

V6,4wd,16" or 15" wheels?

2.7 liter, 4cyl,2wd, auto w/ overdrive and cruise control.

If it was a SR-5 what else should be on it???????

With no badges in the back & a 4 cyl. engine you have the base model. The SR-5 was a option till 2001, when they dropped the 2.7 4 cyl. Then the SR-5 became the lowest model you could order.

I got it with 67 K on it and just put new OEM shocks (just before I found this site and read about Blisteins). I am still trying to put up a pic of it for my avatar. Cant seem to figure out how to resize the pic that small (any help??)

At least from 99 and up SR5's only got the 3.4 V6. So if youhave a 99 2.7 then it is considered a base model. I had an 00 2.7 5 speed with almost every option an SR5 would have, and more options than some SR5's, but because it was the 2.7 it was a base model.

What happened to your 99' Base Model?

Can my Model: Base accept the cargo cover??

if so which one it seems like there is more than one design for the cargo cover for the 3rd gen.

Is there a diagram that shows the different ones??????

What do I need to look for to get one for my Toy??

You should be able to use any cargo cover, there were slight changes over the years but nothing major. I gave the one from my 00 to a friend w/ a 98 and the tan colors in the trucks were different, mine was a bit lighter. The newer covers don't have the little flaps that clip onto the rear headrests, my 00 had them while my 02 does not, but that is just for looks, not functional. I would check junk yards for one.

Unfortunately I totalled my 00 when I did not see a lady coming and tried to cross a street from a stop sign. I used to have a sig pic, I'll see if I can find it, but because of options you would have had to know it wasn't an SR5, it pretty much looked just like one minus painter mirrors and door handles.
