2019 4ruuner trd pro transmission thinks life for 1 second
Hi guys, I have a concern about my Trd pro that every time I change gear from park to reverse or from reverse to drive the transmission will think its life for a second, then, bounce back or forward. 18 hundred of miles now. Not very noticeable, not a big deal, but I am just not sure whether it is normal or not, and want to check with everyone out. Thanks in advance.

Same here. The 4R is definitely not the fastest getting into gear.
My last car went from P to D or R quick so i found i was letting off the break on my 4R too soon. Just remember to hold the break a little longer switching from P to D or R. |
My hunch is that it is an internal variance. Not necessarily an issue but an adjustment. Ex nearly every 1996 4Runner I've driven engages instantly while certain 98's had that one second delay. Identical by spec but automatic transmissions are some weird kind of witchcraft that take time to understand for me. I don't like it but I don't think anything is wrong.
