275/55/20 on 2012 Limited Wheels

Hi All - haven't been on this forum in quite a long time. Not familiar how to do an accurate search. I need new tires for my 2012 Limited but I hate the 245/60/20s on it. I'm sure that there are threads out there with posts including larger tire sizes but I just cannot find them. Pardon my lack of tech savvy on here - could anyone send a link that would help please?

I am running Michelin LTX M/S2 275/60/20 on OEM Limited 20” wheels. Have been for 3.5 years now. Love the look. Would require at least a leveling kit and a body mount chop to prevent rubbing but it’s not that hard.

Also, lots of folks run 275/55 R20 on stock 20” wheels without any suspension modifications.

I’d consider getting some spacers front and back to improve your stance though. My wife’s 4Runner has 1.25” spacers.

9 out of 10 people probably don't notice the mods I did to her truck because they are modest. I want it to look stock, just “improved” (if that makes sense).

Charter - thank you for the info. My vehicle is 2012 - the rim's are 7inches wide. Tire rack said that although they may fit, the rim's are too narrow for 275/55/20. I guess they changed the rim width to 7.5 or 8 on newer Limited models, what BBC year is yours?
Can you actually notice a difference with the 1.25" spacers? Any link to a spacer that you've used?

My wheels are 7.5” as well. You are not supposed to mount those tires on these wheels but I have at least 30k miles on them. Never had an issue, nor has anyone else who has done it (that I’ve talked to).

As far as spacers, it all depends on what you are looking for. To the average person I do not want my vehicles to look modified. The 1.25” spacers are just enough to improve the stance without having the tires protrude outside of the wheel wells. They are also modest enough that I don’t worry about the impact they might have on the vehicle long term.

Sadly I am trading in my 4Runner tomorrow for a 2021 Sequoia Nightshade. Excited about the new truck but I’d be lying if I said I’m not going to miss the 4Runner.

There is tons of threads about 275/55/20 tires on 7 inch rims. I think I wasted half a day reading. Some shops wont mount them on a 7 inch rim, lots of people on this forum have them on 7 inch rim and getting along just fine.
