What is this pump above the front skid plate?

This certainly was not on my '08, and I can't figure out what it does. It's just above the front skid plate, below the balancer. If I'm follow the steel lines correctly, is this the...water pump?! I can't find reference to it in any Google searches of this site. It's a 2020.

Not a pump, it’s the oil cooler. The oil filter is in the housing next to it.

Yep, it's the oil cooler.

Kinda of embarrassed I didn't think of an oil cooler. I didn't even known this truck came with one - the details on the window sticker don't even list it. The front cover looks way different, and I know the oil filter was relocated. I just saw what looked like a pump driven off the front cover, water lines - I took a shot.

Thanks, I did not know we had one. I will have to find it now during my next oil change. Cool.

I guess the dual VVT forced that to be relocated. The oil cooler on my '06 Tacoma Sport is right there at the top of the engine, below the filter. I guess that's what threw me - and not having taken the skid plate off yet to see what's under there.
