4runner Billies compared to Taco Billies
Anyone have any first hand experience with both??
My 4runner 4600s are a bit on the stiff side for my 3rz in the front. Rear 4600s are good. As they have 100,000km on them now (still waiting for them to break in) I am considering replacing them. I want something a little more compliant in the front end. I have been wondering if the Taco 4600 or 5100 might be a better fit. I understand they are valved for the lighter Taco. Might have to go back to 4runner OEM for the front. Thanks |
Bilstein are generally stiffer riding shocks in general. I'm assuming you're stock height, if that's the case OEM type shocks will ride better. Silver body KYB's, Tokico, or even a parts house shock like a Monroe will do just fine.

It really depends on your "buttometer". I went with the 5100 on all 4 corners and love the ride. Good Luck.

Mine’s a 4th Gen but FWIW, the Taco 4600 ride in my 2007 is a perfect blend on and off the pavement. I would call it smoothly truckish. My front coils are also off a TRD Offroad Tacoma & rears are from an FJ. There’s a link in my sig if you’re interested.
