Brush guard

Looking at this used brush guard. Says it's from a 4th gen, little rust and slightly bent tune at the bottom. Can anyone confirm this is from a 4th gen?
Also i wanna find out if I can replaced the rubber in the front. Hes asking $75https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...904369f818.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...617ae1623c.jpg

Brush guards aren't the best idea. If you hit something with a brush guard on you can bend your frame. They're commonly known as damage multipliers.

Yeah Ive heard that before. I like the way it looks and maybe add a light bar down the road. Honestly it wouldn't be installed right away but I figured for $50 could be a nice add on.

I get the bent frame thing but I just go back to years ago my dad had a s10 blazer with one on it, guy stopped short doing 40 and my dad rear ended him.
The brush guard had some scratches and was pushed in a bit, the other car needed read bumper and tailgate replaced.

I look at it this way if i mange to get into an accident that would cause enough damage to bend the frame with the guard installed I could only imagine what it would do without it and worse what could happen to myself or my kids. Maybe thats the wrong way to think about it.

What i need to figure out is how it mounts since my rad support is rusted out and needs to be fixed. I'm gonna think about it overnight and maybe meet him in the morning. I do need to stop spending money on this truck though! haha

Uh if your frame is rusted perhaps a brush Girard should be lower on your triage of priorities? I don't know.

Wasnt going to install it yet but for the price that it is I was gonna consider picking it up clean it up nice paint job or whatever and then throw it on once I get the truck on the road and fixed up.

Wasnt looking for it just happened to pop up on facebook in one of the yardsale groups.

I passed even though the price was good. I think if Im gonna put something up front I will just replace the whole bumper. I saw some cool options out there on this forum. Right now gonna finish maintenance and my new radio and speakers.
