Half way through and then see this

After paying the premium for Toyota parts and waiting over a month this hurts. Guess I learned the hard way to inspect when picking up or at the very least before installing.

Nice rig and beautiful place to live. I lived on the north shore of Oahu years ago.

Thanks. North shore is beautiful. Been trying to get out that side more often. Traffic can be terrible on the weekends though.

Guess my earlier post was a little dramatic. I thought that bent shield went inside the other side and would interfere with something. It goes outside and after I bent it back seems like seals will still work fine. Hopefully can reboot old cv and it’ll be ok. Not sure how to check if it’s good enough to reboot though

Old one felt really good still. Looked ugly but no tears

Put the new one in anyway. Preventative maintenance

Got a little mud on the runner on the way to and from the beach yesterday

Got most of the carpet done and installed box with a couple turn buckles. Had to get it done ASAP to clear space in garage in case of shelter in place. Might add some handles for aesthetics. Still gotta do the wings and sleeper part. Deciding if I want to use different hinges and legs for those though

Did drivers side lbj this morning. Old one felt fine still.

The majority of CV axles I've seen from Toyota over the years had that same area folded over & had to use pliers to bend it back to shape. I'm assuming it's from not being very securely packaged during shipping.

Pj Benn 04-22-2020 04:35 PM

Ah ok I guess I can expect the same when I order the next one. Kinda junk because after the ‘paradise tax’ it comes out to $3xx. Considering buying from the mainland and getting it shipped here instead but not if it might get banged up worse.
