Why did I post this?
There are many really thorough and well made guides for changing the fluids in the 5th gen 4Runners. However, in all of the guides I have ever looked through, it was either missing the fluids that were used, the maintenance intervals, the Toyota parts needed to follow the guide, the tools that fit these Toyota parts or the torque specifications to make sure newbs like me don't royally... mess things up. I'm not a mechanic or even mechanically inclined, so nothing comes easy for me. I imagine there are others out there with my same lack of expertise.

Spider Joints: Pump in new grease until old grease oozes out of the seal.
Slip Yoke Joints: There is conflicting information on this subject and I was unable to find anything official.
The safe bet is to pump 2 - 3 pumps of grease from a pistol grip grease gun.

Only thing I might suggest changing is the lug nut socket size to 21mm since everything is metric on our 4Runners.

I must have aftermarket lug nuts, because the 13/15" socket fits (even with a tiny bit of wiggle room) tighter than the 21mm. Hmmm, I think I'll change it to 21mm, but just make a note that mine, for whatever reason is a 13/15".

13/16" is slightly smaller than 21mm (13/16" = 20.6375mm) so it's not surprising that your 13/16" socket fits tighter. It's close enough that both sockets fit but 21mm is the "proper" size socket.

Lug nuts are generally sized to allow for SAE or Metric tools.
17, 19, 21, & 23 MM or 11/16, 3/4, 13/16, 7/8.
Many lug nut wrenches, and sockets will display both SAE and metric size right on the tool. Like this deep socket.

I would, except that I'm very new to car maintenance and repairs and I have only heard of "CV" in conjunction with axles and joints, I'm not even really sure for certain what you mean by "CV", specifically. I'm probably not the best person to be giving out that kind of advise. I heard that the suspension in 4Runners is a sealed unit anyway, and this being a fluid maintenance guide is probably going to confuse and overwhelm brand new 4Runner owners.
Maybe in the future when I have more experience and start messing with upgrading my 4Runner and spending more time researching, I might be up to making a more advanced and thorough guide, maybe.
I really made this guide for people, well, like me. Someone who isn't super savvy with car repairs and maintenance but would like to have their 4Runner last as long as possible without breaking the bank.

I could do that, and I think I just might. The only problem is that Toyota doesn't really give concrete answers, except for when you should "inspect" components.
Personally, I would really only sweat two, motor and transmission oil, and my oil changing guide covers the intervals for the motor oil. I think I will include this in here, I just am nervous about giving bad advise.
There's a lot of heated discussion when to change fluids and even what fluids to use. As far as the transmission goes, personally, I would do my first flush between 40,000-50,000. If it gets past 100,000 miles, I would do a LOT of research before just doing a complete trans flush (I linked a youtube video below that goes over just that). I'm approaching 40,000 miles myself and I think I'm going to do my own very soon. Then again, I'm sure some veteran of this site will yell at me for giving bad advise, and in all fairness........ I just might be......
