Has Anyone Trimmed The Air Dam For TRD Skid Plate Install?

So I think a TRD skid plate is going to be my next mod. This requires removing the air dam thing shown in the pic below...

Unfortunately, once the TRD skid plate is installed this leaves a gap as shown in the pic below...

I don't like that gap. Has anyone trimmed their air dam to still fit with the TRD skid plate in place?

Seems like maybe a trim around this red line might work well enough

I haven't seen it done

What part of PA are you in?

I know at least a couple have done it here on the forums. I remember running across a thread when I was researching on how to modify the TRD skid plate for KDSS. I am now looking to also modify the plastic air dam since the gap looks fugly. I'm going to research more when I have time after working.

I didn't remove or trim mine. I was able to install the skid plate right over it. I can a picture when I get home. I didn't like the gap either

How did you decide where to cut? Just eyeballing your pics and some pics of the air dam looks like maybe lay the skid plate on the back of the dam and cut around it?

I hated the gap!
Mounted the skid, then fitted the plastic piece. Trial and error fit.
One could do as previous reply, just mount filler plastic piece, mount skid, mark plastic filler piece, remove skid, remove plastic filler , cut filler, install skid, install plastic filler piece. Done!

The filler plate works with the TRD skid plate? I may get it.

Here are pictures of mine installed directly over the trim, no cutting

I trimmed mine to fit with the skid plate, wasn’t perfect, but better than having a gap there. I marked it out first and it was easy to cut.
