Bone head... left booster shim out

Howdy y'all, I had to replace the brake booster on my '99 SR5. All proud of myself when everything worked like it should, until I was boxing up the old one for core and discovered I left out the thin steel shim<?> that fits between the booster and firewall.:frusty:
I'm debating whether it's worth the effort to put it back in, basically a complete do-over... What do you think, put it back or don't worry? |
I've left those off of brake masters and clutch masters before. I think it's a bit of a dust seal for the firewall and maybe to prevent long term corrosion to the sheet metal. Should not be a problem.

If I got some extra free time and able to do it without rushing, I wouldn't mind taking it apart and put it back together again.
But then again Im weird like that, ha. |
I'd feel bad about it, maybe a little at least, but it's certainly not worth the effort of taking it all apart again to put that in there. it's not really going to cause any real problems.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll save it with the other ‘spares’ and put it back if/when the booster fails again.
