Looks like a very nice T4R3G in Scottsdale...

for those of you in the market. No affiliation and just because I say it looks nice does not mean a buyer should not exercise sound buying practice when evaluating this T4R.

It’s probably rusted out bad since they didn’t even take one picture of the undercarriage.
Price and mileage is way too cheap otherwise.

1 owner in AZ and the VIN is posted, looks like a great deal for someone

Agreed. Rust is not likely in Scottsdale either. Not impossible, but not likely.

Someone needs to go buy this thing-- look in the door jambs in the pics. Still glossy and new looking.

The prices seem to be between 6900 and 7900 at dealers in the area for a 200+ k 3rd gen 4 runner. One was priced at 13k which happen to be green with very low miles like this one. The price on this thing is very low. I never knew that these 3rd gens 20+ years old with high miles held their value so well. Evidently a 2000 limited with decent miles was sold on craigslist for 6200 and was considered a steal. Am I crazy but high mileage 20+ year old 3rd gen are selling for more now than a few years ago?

Looking at the pics, it seems there's some rust on the floor sills front and back right next to the weatherstripping. Also, hard to tell, but is the rear bumper perforating left and right, mostly on the right? I know this happens quickly in the Midwest, but I think I've seen Arizona Gen3s on here with no hints of rust in these areas, and higher miles.

I googled the vin and look what I found.

Auction Ended: Used Car Toyota 4Runner 1998 Green is Sold in BROOKHAVEN NY | VIN: JT3HN86RXW0169013

Very possible it’s from the rust belt.

Here’s another link. Definitely has rust https://www.copart.com/lot/37630170/Photos

Yikes! Those pics are much more clear lol

Well, maybe it was a one owner car before he bought it at auction last month.

Jay4runner7 07-06-2020 03:03 PM

Doesn’t mean it’s not rusted. The guy could of lived in New York all his life and just recently moved to Arizona. No way that thing is that cheap with nothing wrong with it.

“Hey Vinny! Send that 4runner we got at the Long Beach auction down to Arizona. My cousin Frank will take care of it. Those guys buying cars down there probably don’t know what rust looks like.[emoji38]”

The pics look good, that auction link made me check my security software, is that a legit site? My 1st and crucial question to any seller is "how long have you owned the vehicle and are title and registration current and in YOUR name?" Before I drove more than 60mi to look at it after speaking to them, I would pay$ for the real VIN info, simple as that.It ain't rocket science folks, just sayin.
Vinny
