TRD wheels now available in bronze??? WOW!
Just saw this when trying to find a part...so now they have gloss gunmetal and bronze...

That’s annoying. Just got a set of the gloss gunmetal, would have preferred these.

I think this might be it....but holding off a couple weeks until I can see the new pros little better because initial pics look awesome. |
I want a set!
|
Someone please buy these and put them on an Army Green TRD Pro...
|
Too bad they are still cast aluminum instead of flow formed like the 2021s will have.
|
Those look good. Kind of a Heritage edition shade like the land cruisers.
I'd like to see the new TRD Pro wheel design coming in 2021 in bronze. |

If I hadn’t just picked up a set of TE wheels on the cheap, I would order a set of these bronze TRD wheels.
I really dig the bronze. |
Back to the drawing board
I was set on scs bronze wheels, but these are sweet!
|
wow is the 2021 looks badass
https://www.toyotaknoxville.com/inve...11430/ip/1.jpg itll look awesome beside my new iphone SE https://www.imore.com/sites/imore.co..._iphone_5s.png |
7" wide wheels are almost too small for even the OEM tires. I wish they'd make them in at least an 8" width.
|
It’d be nice if the new flow formed wheel was 7.5in wide.
These are neat but I’m more interested in the flow formed wheel that’s coming down the pipe. |

1) you have no idea the use of my vehicle - you’re an ignorant troll 2) flow forming offers a hell of a lot more than just strength. Less material, less grain porosity, less unsprung weight/ rotating mass = ability to increase concavity (aesthetics) and also improve driver feel on or off road. Please focus on the important things like adding a muffler to your muffler or why your bf’s battery isn’t Panasonic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Such innovation.....

Too skinny....pinching the bead on those tires=bad wear and darting on the road. 8'' would be better 8.5 best.

even the stock wheels on my trail were 7.5. I kind of like the bronze but the width of these and the fact EVERY OTHER 4Runner I see seems to have some iteration of this wheel led me to go with Method NV's.

Same here! Only reason I am still running them , they were installed when I bought my 4RUNNER at the dealership. I just felt that T4r has bigger problems to solve, like suspension, power. After I’ve done all that, rims is my next mod. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

And I can't force myself to buy a narrower rim than what I already have. |
My buddy manages a Discount Tire and he recommended sticking with OEM wheels on the 4Runner. He said he gets lots of 4Runer owners coming back in and asking to replace new wheels with the stock wheels. Is he an idiot?
I love the look of bronze wheels so now with the TRD option I'm getting ready to pull the trigger. Anyone have any issues with non-OEM wheels, as long as you went with a reputable company? |
OEM were Enkei.......very high quality, but you can get Enkei's in other styles and be safe I guess.

bronze, satin black, gunmetal
OH MY! |
Hmm... I wonder how these would look on a barcelona red trail edition. I'd 100% jump on them other than wondering if they would clash with the silver bumper covers. I have my snow tires on the stock wheels at the moment and will mount my stock sized ATs this spring. I was going to do matte grey or gunmetal Pro wheels, but these could look really cool.

oh thats HOT!

Just ordered a set through a Toyota dealership that's participating in the January FREESHIP deal. For my '08's Driftwood paint, with blacked out trim, I'm hopin' they'll rock when covered with bigger tread after a suspension lift. Free shipping lasts until the end of the month at participating dealers, so the $150 savings beat other matte bronzish rims (Method, Icon, etc.) I was considering.
Also, I like the idea of the 7" width, compared to 8.5 on most others... When living in Wyoming with snow and Spring-thaw mud on trails, a narrower tire with good tread stood a better chance of digging down to hardpan for traction than a wider rim/tire combo. Did a quick mock-up of my 4th gen with the bronze TRD wheel off the green, dealership 5th gen pictured above. Picturing a 3/2 lift beforehand, me likey... |

I totally dig the bronze. To many people has the black and gray ones so did not want to follow the band wagon. Just threw them on this past weekend. Mounted my stock tires on, will be getting a lift and new tires so it would be more aggressive. :frisky:

What about protection for the valve stem?
Do you think these keep the stem tucked far enough back to prevent it from getting torn off if you rub a rock or something? I have the FN Wheels Konig Six Shooter and my valve stem is very exposed which worries me. I do carry a set of Colby stems for emergency but still. |
