Uneven Valence - from Port / Factory ?
Swapped my ORP Valence out today for a black pro valence. Thought it would take me 20min.
....3 hours later, could not for the life of me get the valence to be 100% even. When I tried to put the stock Silver valence back on, it had the exact same issue. Thinking it was probably like this from the factory and I probably just didn't notice? It looks like the factory drill marks (for mounting) are done by hand, or at least they certainly didn't look machine perfect; and uneven enough to make the mounting snug but not perfect. Before I stop caring...or let this bother me enough to bust out a dremel - wanted to ask if this is a common issue? Photos of left side vs right side; left side of the valence is exactly 1/8 lower than on the right. https://i.postimg.cc/8zqx1krT/ssss.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/pL9gb5r0/sssss.jpg |
When I swapped out my limited bumper for a trd bumper, the slots for the valance were already cut out. Not sure if these are cut and installed at the port.
Can you take a picture further back ? |

Not sure if this is commonly known but the rear black pro valences are narrower than the silver TRD/ Trail. The silver one below barely fits in the box that the black one was shipped in.
I suspect the silver valences came straight from Japan and were re- molded for the USDM pro. Seems like it’s not as tight a fit as the silver JDM valences. Lining up of the narrower black ones are less consistent at port? |

My only tip is to protect the edge of of the panel with masking tape when you put your bumper back on. If tackling by yourself, you’re likely to miss the mark and scratch the bottom of the rear quarter panels. |

I can’t really tell from this pic. |

The donor rear bumper unused came with a black oem valance and it fit perfectly. But I opted to paint a silver valance black as it had less dents. Both of them fit identically on the rear bumper. |
