Ironman 4X4 Foam Cell Pro Kit

Hey T4R Crew,

I finally got around to installing the Ironman 4X4 Foam Cell Pro suspension kit on my 2002 LTD.

Upon unboxing the first thing that came to mind was HOLY $h^+!!! These things are straight up BEEFY! I opted to have my front coil overs pre built before shipping and it was completely worth it. The build quality and fit/finish of all the components is very well done.

Install went fairly smooth with generous use of my buddy’s MATCO impact gun. Those horrible rear upper shock mounts gave us problems. Nothing a pneumatic cutoff wheel couldn’t handle.

This Toyota spent most of its life in Texas and has been in New York for the last three years so rust isn’t cancerous.

I haven’t seen anybody install these in a 3rd gen yet but I did a fair amount of research. I wanted to try them out and possibly get another set for my beloved 5th Gen TEP.

So I didn’t take the obligatory centerline-wheel hub-to-fender measurements. It was cold and honestly who cares, we know it provided lift over the tired (not just OEM but likely original) suspension components.

Driving impressions: I love it. The shocks soak up road imperfections. The truck feels more planted and competent all around. I found myself going about 10-15 mph faster over washboard dirt roads. I would like to get into some technical stuff soon to really push it. I expect a bit of settling over the coming months and I will report back.

Ironman generally rides better than OME stuff too. Thanks for sharing. I have had this kit in mind.

How is this kit doing after a year of use?

Or perhaps even 2 years? I'm kinda getting tired of the stiffness of my OME nitrocharger setup in the front. I looked long and hard at these Foam Cell Pros too but decided to go with the OMEs. They just really don't do great with the half crappy roads here in CO nor do they handle washboards very well. I mean I don't hate them and it's my understand they are absolutely bomb proof and easily last 50k if not 100k but I'm willing to get something I need to rebuild in order to get some better rid quality lol.
