'rusty' like Oil Pan After cleaning
Hey all, I just pulled an oil pan from a scrap yard to swap oil pans as mine is leaky, and I was cleaning it up I hit the interior with some degreaser and some brake clean and after it dried there was a Red haze is parts of the pan.
Was it a mistake to hit the inside of the pan with brakeclean/degreaser or it is just some residual that will jsut wipe out? Should I avoid using this pan? |

Use and abrasive pad and knock off the light rust film and put oil on a rag and coat the bare metal with it to stop the rust.

Is the pan painted on the inside? I think so. Most brake clean says to keep it off painted surfaces.
