2007 SR5 Brake Recommendations
Looking for input regarding brakes. Have a few specific questions and details I'd like answered.
Current Tires: P265/65/R17 Calipers: 13WG Rotors: 319mm
I don't tow. Unless someone can heavily convince me otherwise, I see no reason to upgrade rotor size. What I have (factory originals) have been good enough for the 2 years I've owned the vehicle. If the PowerStop kit or equivalent upgrade is an upgrade in terms of performance, then it will be better than what has worked for me. The KC138 kit is $531.89 after core on RockAuto. I guess I'm about $500.00 on the budget for this project. I could cut that in half if I just do pads and rotors. So if I do calipers, that should eliminate the "4th Gen Brake Problem", correct? As I understand, it's an issue with the calipers. |
Also, what about this kit?
More Information for POWER STOP KCOE138 Shaves a few hundred off. Would these calipers eliminate said issue? After reading more about drilled/slotted rotors, it seems some state that if you get dirt/mud in them then they don't last very long as a system. Thoughts? |
