Let me see your winch set ups!

I pulled the trigger on a hybrid metal bumper and want to see everyones choices on winch, fairlead, and shackles.

Post the brands you used and if you like/dont like anything about your set up

BTW, heres the bumper I got. I ordered without the grill over the light bar.

They are having a group buy sale for the next couple days.

I saw on IG that you were getting one. I'm considering it as well (but shopping around still). I'm also thinking a Warn EVO 10s and Factor 55 Hawse fairlead and Ultrahook.

Warn EVO 10S on a custom SSO Slimline bumper. I’m not a fan of keeping the control box on top because it displaces one of the stock Toyota lines but I also don’t want to have to pop my hood if I need to go with the wired option for the remote. Haven’t gotten a chance to use it other than pulling my other vehicle up the driveway. It’s a just in case thing. I hope I don’t need to use it

I went with a shittybuilt x2o with a warn 1.5 inch fair lead and a warn epic hook.

I had a factor 55 flatlink, but after using it a few times, I don’t believe the factor 55 bs anymore and went back to a hook.

I like this current setup. Fast too deploy and easy to use with one hand in mud, in water, and in snow. Less stuff to carry when hooking up.

I can also hook it to my shackles because washboard will have your factor 55 hanging off the fair lead.

As for the winch, my shittybuikt is cheap and reliable . Don’t see a need to spend more

I just got the warn hybrid bumper. Had it two days after orders d it’s already powdercoated. Going with the warn vr10s

I have the Smittybilt X2o 10k Synthetic. Got it discounted so I couldn't refuse. 4.5 years later it works well whenever I need it. Granted I don't go out purposely to recover folks all day. I've only used it a handful of times with straight forward recoveries either single pulls or coupled with a snatch block for 2x the pulling power. Fits perfectly covered from the sun with my 4x4 Labs bumper.

Who's running a Badlands 12k?

shittybilt x20 here as well. Moved the control box into the engine bay. First water crossing and the wireless quit working. Opened it up to find out the wireless switch is not weatherproof, thus the move. Wired it works great.
Factor55 ultra hook.
I use soft shackles majority of the time. Look for high quality shackles (soft will come with an inspection tag sewn on). IMO I’m not a fan of driving around with hard shackles installed. Only useful purpose I can think of is holding the winch hook on older style winches.
I have a custom fairlead, but the one that comes with the winch is good. There were some posts of people having issues with the line rubbing inside the bumper (not sure what branch bumper). No issues with the SSO, just wish I got the winch access holes.

I went with the Warn VR Evo 10K Synthetic. Mounted the control box on the right side just behind the bumper.

Some good looking set ups here!

Really it’s between the SmittyBilt and the Warn so far. I don’t like the fact that the SmittyBilt seems to be commonly referred to as ShittyBilt lol.

I really like the Agency6 fairlead and shackle set up. Leaning towards that route

NotaTRD 04-19-2021 04:15 PM

For me, shittybilt isn’t a knock on the company, it’s just catchy to say. Overall, from my research, the Smittybilt x20 has received great feedback. Many people using the x20. I wouldn’t have bothered spending the coin if I didn’t think it would last and be sufficient for my needs.

Nice thread OP, hope this one lives on.

@Seattle206 Nice setup!

I personally went with C4 for my OG 2010. I will be purchasing the Simtty X12, its over the top (I only need 10) but why not!

Also for anyone looking for lights to fit in some of these hybrid bumpers Amber White LED Light Bar - 20 inch Single Row by Extreme LED check these out

I went with Smittybilt X20 with Factor 55 Fairlead with Flatlink and rope guard.

Originally had the Victory4x4 Blitz bumper then went full Strike bumper with hoops.
