Cam adjuster tabs busted - help!

Hey guys,

Installing a lift this weekend I had a total brain fart about how the cam adjusters work. I attempted to loosen them by cranking as hard as I could on the adjuster NUT rather than the bolt... which wiped out two of the tabs the cam rests on. Doh!! :fish:

Here's what I need your help with:

- Will I need to replace these tabs? I could get a Total Chaos kit or I'm thinking I can bend the tabs back up and weld them from the outside.

- Would a cam eliminator kit fix my problem, and would using it allow me to forgo fixing the cam tabs? Or does the kit still rely on having intact cam tabs?

- If my alignment guy can manage to align it anyway and torque down the adjusters well do you think they will stay put without the tabs for street driving?

Thanks!

I just had the same thing happen. I had the TC cam tabs welded on...i would suggest using this time to just upgrade and be done with it. The oem tabs will just keep bending, throwing off your alignment when wheeling.

@theesotericone

Since you have cam eliminator plates already do you think those would solve my problem? My problem is only on one control arm and only on the inner horns. So each bolt has one fully intact set of tabs to interface with, and one set that's missing a tab like shown in the picture. I'm thinking if this would work then I could forgo repairing the tabs altogether.

All of my tabs are completely flat. That's why I went with the eliminator plates. My alignment hasn't moved in miles of hard trails. If it does ever move my next step it to weld the plates . lol

Nice. Thanks. With adjustable UCAs can you still dial in an accurate alignment?
