Master Cylinder Levels

I bled my brakes last weekend and on two of the wheels the level went down but the other two wheels the level seemed to go up. Upon the last wheel (driver's front), the level was low, so I topped up to the Max. I checked the level after driving all week and found it to be below Max and when I pulled the cap some fluid came out. I wasn't expecting that. With the level below Max I started to add but it only seemed to fill the top section so I stopped. The level in the reservoir didn't increase. The brakes are working fine with no issues. Any thoughts?
