2021 TRD Premium, Upgrading Tires, what to do with the current ones with 10000 miles

Hello.

I drive a 2020 TRD that now has about 10k miles on the stock tires. I am planning off-road trip to Utah and am considering upgrading the tires to something that can also be happy off roads, something like all track? What is the best thing to do with the existing tires?

Tire Rack has been recommended as an online source. What tire specs do you recommend? From here to there is 1000 miles on asphalt, then there is probably no more then 100 miles off roads, then back another 1000 miles.

Thanks in advance.

Sell your old tires on a local online want ads. Here in Utah, KSL TV has a free, on line want ads (Classifieds for Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming | ksl.com). I sold my original tires there with less than 1000 miles on them and got a good price. I think the guy that bought them runs a used tire shop.

I replaced the original tires with BFG KO2 in the OEM size, but E load rating. If you don't do serious off roading, a lower load rating is OK.

Welcome to Utah! Where do you plan to go off roading?

Thank you, and thank you.

I am going to spend a few days at the Arches National Park driving and hiking, then at Moab, I want to try out the tracks in Sand Flats. I am currently evaluating Hell’s Revenge.

Do you have any other suggestions? My T4R isn’t rigged for over landing. But with better tires I think a moderate trail could be done with it.

Thanks

Farzad

I recently sold mine for stock size KO2's also. 12k miles on them. I sold on CL. Asked $120 and was offered 100.

Thanks. I am going to do the same. I just bought a set of five K02 tires from Tire Rack.

OP, stick them on Craigslist and wait. With 10k on the tires, you should be able to get $200 for 4.

I sold my stock tires with 21k miles for 180 if I remember correctly, but basically with 10k $50 a tire isn't unreasonable.

If you can't wait and don't want to/don't have room to store the tires, throw them on there for $100 for all and they will go fast.

Burn them.

I got Goodyear/Dunlop to take back my OEM tires and replace them with BFG KO2.

I use discount tire and if the tread is in decent shape they will buy them from you (give you credit towards the new rubber). A little less cash but saves me the hassle of hauling them home, posting ads, dealing with low ballers, giving people my address, or meeting up with people who might now show up at the last minute.

Thanks. I have advertised them for $300 for the full set of 5 tires. I might let them go for less.

I might do the same thing except that I already have bought mine from Tire Rack. Firestone will be installing them for me.
