Wrangler Rubicon to 4Runner
Greetings from a long time lurker.
A couple of years ago I was going back and forth between the Wrangler and a 4Runner. I was dubious of the Wrangler due to concerns over reliability, but I found a used 2017 JKUR in good shape and at a good price so I took a chance. After two years I can say that the Rubicon is an awesome off road vehicle. It is crazy capable and inspires confidence. Unfortunately, it has been plagued with oil leaks, AC issues, radiator issues and other things needing repairs. I’m reminded of an old saying, “Show me a smoking hot woman and I’ll show you some guy who’s tired of her sh@#” So the last barrage of repairs have made up my mind and I’m looking to make a deal soon on a TRD Off Road. Thought I would get my 15 post minimum in and introduce myself as I’m sure I will want to post soon when I get my new ride. |

Zero repairs on my 18' Off-road. The JL Wranglers were about one month from the dealership when I bought mine. Happy to have bought Toyota.

Can't go wrong with Toyota. It is a solid rig. Welcome aboard!

Congrats and Welcome :)

I always wanted to get an SUV and always rent jeeps for some of our travel adventures, knowing how capable of are - but realizing how reliable they are not known to be. Congrats on the 4R!

I'm new around here, but I'll also welcome you, as a Jeep owner looking to supplement my Jeep ownership with a 1999 4R with a V6 and manual trans.
JEEP does, after all, stand for Just Empty Every Pocket. ;) Christian |
Whether your Wrangler Rubicon has front-end damage or you want to give your Jeep a rugged appearance. Safety is critical, and you should invest in an off road bumpers for your vehicle.

Great choice . I've never regretted owning my 4R.

I went from a '99 TJ Wrangler to an '11 FJ Cruiser. I missed my half doors and soft top. I did not miss all the little things that broke on the Wrangler.

Thanks for the background. I too was debating jeep aka FCA vs 4runner and reliablity fears sent me here. After my first trip to Moab I was feeling a little jealous of the Rubicons out there. Now not so much.

Congrats! A solid rig.
