KMC wheels: user reviews?

Anyone running KMC wheels on their T4R?

What’s your opinions of them (good, bad, and the ugly)

I've been running the KMC KM717 Bully OL's 17in 0mm offset. Love them. They're lighter than most wheels out there and fairly inexpensive as well. Have always loved the Bully spoke pattern as well, so was stoked when they came out with the OL version.

They have the same tech as the Method Bead Grip series, so they hold the bead on better at low pressures. KMC calls that the OL (over lander) series.

They just came out with a Made In The USA model called the Impact OL's that look great as well.

Saw that the new Impact OL's come with either 0mm or -12mm offsets. The -12mm increases the weight a little to 28lbs (0mm is 25lbs).

I REALLY like the SUMMIT and TREK models in the flat black outer/gray center finish.

I will need new tires (OEM ones finally going out) and would like a wheel that sits out farther without having to run a 1.5 spacer like I would have to with the OE wheels/larger tire set up.

Summit's have a 0mm offset like my Bully OL's, which push them out a little, but I still added 1.5in spacers to get them out a bit more.

The Trek's have a -12mm offset option, which would prob be good to not need a spacer, but you'd have to see once you get them on.

My brother threw 285s on his stock TRDP wheels and tried out 1.5 spacers and said he developed fairly bad steering wheel shake with them on. Took them back off and had no issues.

If anyone has the -12 offset KMC wheels on their truck and can post some pics here showing fitment that would be great

The spacers wouldn't cause that unless something was not tightened evenly. Like I said, I run 0mm offset and 1.5in spacers, zero issues. Drove the 3hrs to Joshua Tree, bombed pretty hard, and back with no problems. Checked all 24 lug nuts' torque, all fine. Then did 2,000+mi Utah overlanding trip a couple months ago and still all good.

These are the spacers I got. I recommend buying the ET (extended thread) lug nuts for them as well: Amazon.com: KSP 6X5.5 Wheel Spacers Fit for Tacoma 4runner, 1.5 inches Forged Hub Centric Adapters Kits fit 6 Lug Wheel Without Locking hub, Package of 4, (B07DLX519N): Automotive

He’s a competent truck owner and had everything tightened correctly. Vibrations went away when he removed the spacers. Who knows.

What is the recommended tire size for a 17x8.5 tire?

Also, if you run a 0 offset 8.5 wide wheel with the recommended tire, will that require any body modifications?

Bumping this up, still looking for pics of these on 4Runners

I bought a set of the KMC 17x9 Chase wheels and have been very happy with them.

Here they are with Toyo MT’s , without rubber and with a set of Nitto Exo Grappler AWT for the winter months. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6483c3b74e.jpg

I had a set early on and they worked fine. I ended up changing to FN and now Methods. But only due to style and size.
