TRD ORP 2021 - Audio system upgrade options?

1 Attachment(s)
I just picked up a brand new 2021 TRD Off-Road Premium. It has everything I need and is a great upgrade from my 2016 SR5 Premium. I want to upgrade the audio from the stock system (no sub).

I upgraded my sound system on the 2016. It had a Pioneer 4200NEX head unit with a JL Audio amp, replacement speakers, wiring, and a new 8" Pioneer sub (sat loose in a wood box in the rear compartment). I also added lots of sound deadening in the front doors and passenger compartment. It sounded AMAZING. Crisp, clean highs and boomy lows with easy-to-reach controls.

I had the controls integrated into the existing steering wheel control buttons. I also added a variable knob under the steering wheel to adjust the sub. It was easy to tune and adjust on the fly. The truck's stats (things like tire pressure) popped up on the screen of the head unit.

Lastly, I had the Toyota back-up camera integrated into the system (they had to use some sort of a 5v converter to do it). This removed the need for an after-market camera that sticks out in the back.

I checked Crutchfield as a starting point and they say there is no upgrade for my 2021 truck. The head unit area and faceplate looks almost identical (except for button shape and color) to my old 2016. I'm surprised there is no option. I was able to find a replacement bezel for a 2-din unit.

What are my options here? Is there a good place to start?

You might want to start with the speakers. I got the OEM Audio + speakers and they sound much better than the original: 4runner - OEM Audio Plus

I have a '21 ORP as well and I have to say the sound system is such an improvement over my '11 Forester that I think it's great lol

It’s possible that Crutchfield hasn’t updated their website to include the 2021 4Runner. Maybe they haven’t had one in-house to analyze. From all the posts I’ve read here, it’s not like there are 2021’s just lying around.

+1 for one audio plus. Seems to
Be the best game in town for audio enhancement and a stock look.
